Paintbox Nail Studio Soho NYC Nail Art Manicure Gift Cards

Spring is right around the corner (finally). Are your digits ready?

They better be, because there are a lot of nail trends they have to try out this season. Last September after SS16 Fashion Week, we showed you the hottest spring fashion trends you’ll be seeing everywhere. And thanks to Paintbox Nail Studio in Soho, you’ll be seeing them 10x over.

Paintbox is all about bringing the most current editorial and runway trends to your nails. Paintbox was founded by Eleanor Langston, a veteran magazine beauty editor, who tapped celebrity manicurist Julie Kandalec as Creative Director (you’ve seen her work in Vogue & Vanity Fair and on the runways of Thom Browne & Helmut Lang).

And as you can see, they have their perfectly polished fingers on the pulse of all things fashion. Their spring collection of nail designs was clearly inspired by fashion’s most discerning designers, and now we’re seriously craving a fresh polish.

After all, what’s the only accessory you wear every day and never take off? A manicure.

Sparkle & Shine

If you’ve noticed anything from our trend blog posts, it’s probably that embellishment is a trend every season. Like, every. single. season. And as you can see SS16 was no different. Yellow gold, rose gold, silver, chrome, and pretty much any other metallic you can think of… They all made a glittery appearance on the RTW runway last September, and they’ll be making an appearance on your nails this spring.

70s Vibes

We’re dye-ing over this trend (ba dum tss). If you’ve never dared to try a tie-dye mani, now’s the time. From a mix of bright pastels to earthier muted tones — there was a pretty big variety of color combos on the runway when it came to tie-dyes. The same goes for Paintbox, who went for a fresh mix of spring shades with Force of Nature, and a less graphic but more metallic — we told you it’s everywhere — combination with Full Spectrum.

Primary Graphics

Basic one shade manis, be gone. This spring, it’s time to start colorblocking on your digits. Designers embraced primary colors and bold stripes on the Spring/Summer runways, so why shouldn’t your nails? Go graphic with bright reds and yellows and geometric cut outs. Side note: Anyone else craving a hot dog now?

50 Shades of Denim

Two years ago, denim on denim was a HUGE no no. Last year, Canadian tuxedos became more acceptable, but only if you paired two different shades of denim. But in 2016, you can throw all of those rules out the window, because head-to-toe denim is now perfectly acceptable. Especially when it extends head-to-fingers-to-toes. We love the two shades of blue Paintbox went with for their Spring menu, especially when paired with gold details… Totally reminiscent of gold rivets and threading.

Dare to Bare

Scroll through any fashion blogger’s Instagram feed from the past 6 months, and you’re bound to stumble upon at least a million photos of them wearing off-the-shoulder tops. Spoiler alert: Bare shoulders are here to stay. Channel your favorite springtime trend on your digits with nail designs that show off your tips with contrasting polish colors.
