Yes, Justin, February 15th is too late to say sorry.
And even if she says it’s not a big deal — It is. Trust us.
But we know you’re super slammed at the moment. Between work, perfecting your chili recipe for the Super Bowl party, and trying to find some downtime in there somewhere, shopping for a Valentine’s Day gift for her (especially if you have no clue what she wants) can seem pretty f*cking daunting.
Q: “Does she want chocolate?”
A: We always want chocolate.
Q: “Would she like flowers?”
A: Again, yes. But you can always send flowers.
Q: “How about diamonds?”
A: Heck yeah!! Go for it!
Q: “OK, but what about a gift she’d love, but that requires very little effort on my part?”
A: Gift cards. Duh.
Women want gift cards. We’ve told you this once, and we’ll tell you again for the rest of your life. As much as you think she’ll appreciate the ‘thought’ behind any gift you give her, what she’d really appreciate is if you actually ‘thought’ about what she might want.
And what she wants — most of the time — is the chance to shop for herself without any guilt whatsoever. If she wants chocolate, she can buy chocolate. If she wants jewelry, she can buy jewelry.
Moral of the story: Leave. It. Up. To. Her.
OPTION 1: Wait until the last minute to send a gift card.
Honestly, this is a totally valid option. You have no time, and with the existence of technology that allows you to send a digital gift card at the drop of a Visa, instant gift cards are super easy last minute gifts.
The downside… You’ll probably forget. No worries, pal. It happens to the best of us.
OPTION 2: Open a new tab right now, design a gift card, and schedule for delivery on February 14th.
An even more valid option, because you definitely won’t find yourself in the dog house next week. All you have to do is specify the send date at checkout, and voila! She wakes up to a surprise in her inbox (and hopefully breakfast in bed) on Valentine’s Day morning. It’s a foolproof gift, guys. Especially if you purchase the gift card right now before you forget. Seriously, go!!
We don’t want this to be you:
