Red, white and blue all over… The Globes carpet was so patriotic, it’s making us blush!

This awards season, it seems as if the gals are starting to embrace a little more color. Sure there were the typical metallics (Brie Larson‘s dress worked perfectly with her shiny new Best Actress award), but gone were the safe black gowns of yesteryear.

Instead, actresses opted for bold reds, glimmering blues, bright whites and unexpected blush tones.

We love a red carpet risk, and while most ladies played it safe with silhouette, we’d be more than happy to keep the carpet colorful for the rest of award season.

Ravishing Reds

Jennifer Lawrence looked red hot as usual in Dior Couture (and is also giving us some serious 2011 Oscars vibes). Natalie Dormer went for a bright take on a familiar Grecian silhouette in J. Mendel. Emmy stunned in a simple Armani Privé fit-and-flare. And Zendaya absolutely killed it, as per usual, in Marchesa. Seriously, who looks like that at 19??

Bold Blues

Kate Winslet looked like a winner (even though she totally wasn’t expecting it) in a royal blue Dolce & Gabbana gown. Julianne Moore when for a modern column silhouette in Tom Ford. Viola Davis went for full-on glamour in a navy Marchesa jaw-dropper. And Gina Rodriguez went for a midnight blue Zac Posen dress that showed off her gorgeous figure.

Winter Whites

No one knows how to pose like Taraji P. Henson thanks to the train on her Stella McCartney gown. Saoirse Ronan looked simply stunning in a white YSL dress. Alicia Vikander combined edge and elegance masterfully in Louis Vuitton. And, of course, Laverne Cox slayed in Elizabeth Kennedy. The girl can do no wrong.

Pretty in Pink

Katy Perry showed off her globes in a mauve Prada gown. Cate Blanchett did not disappoint in Givency (lace and fringe and still looks hot… Classic Cate). Leslie Mann went ultra feminine in Monique Lhuillier. And Kate Bosworth rocked a head-to-toe sequin look Dolce & Gabbana.
