He may have been the night’s biggest winner (and looked damn good accepting that award), but Leo wasn’t one of the Oscars’ biggest trendsetters.
Because the men of the red carpet took their suit game to a whole new level this year with blues, embellishment, and… flowers? Yep, you guessed it. Jared Leto didn’t wear a classic tux this time, either.
The ladies, of course, also looked just as gorgeous and glamorous as usual with lace, a lot of cleavage, and plenty of jewel-tone colors from the bottom half of the rainbow. Roy G BIV, indeed.
Lace ‘Em Up
White lace, bumpin’ lace, fringe-y lace, and printed lace — these ladies were laced up and ready for the Oscars race. We always love when actresses play with texture on the red carpet, and this year they surely didn’t disappoint. Also, is it totally selfish that we want Chrissy Teigen to stay pregnant forever? Absolutely glowing.

Helllllllooo ladies! And hello to you too, actresses. The red carpet is never shy when it comes to showing a bit of cleavage, but this year the gals went below and beyond, with deep V cuts that not only showed off the ta-tas, but the tops of their rock-hard abs as well. Like… we get it. You’re hot.

Blue was all over the Golden Globes carpet earlier this year, and as we all know, the Globes are usually a pretty accurate predictor when it comes to both fashion trends and winners (congrats Brie!). For the Oscars, these ladies took blue to whole new level — adding trains, belts, and purple-y tones that are just regal enough for goddesses Tina and Reese.

Guys on the red carpet are typically a snooze-fest, especially when it’s the Academy Awards. But the men took some pretty big risks this awards season, and we’re definitely not complaining! We loved Kevin Hart’s black-on-black embellishment, Common’s head-to-toe white, and Mark’s mixture of black and blue. But while Jared Leto certainly looked unique, we’re still asking ourselves if that rose was stolen from Bachelor Ben’s fantasy suite arsenal. Our personal favorite though? Mr. Rocky Balboa himself in a navy number that’s so perfectly dapper, it makes us even more upset that he didn’t get to show it off on stage.
